Happy New Year from all the staff, children and parents associated with Bali Children’s Project.

We have had a great start to the year already! We have new sponsorships, updates on children and a very special grant that has enabled us to continue our life saving HIV/AIDS Education program here in Bali.

Warmest regards,

Grant Success for 2015 HIV/AIDS Program

We are elated to bring you the news that we have been successful in receiving a grant for our life saving HIV/AIDS education program in 2015 from the Mel Wolf Foundation. We’ve reached over 5,000 children with this program so far, and there will be many more in 2015!

Story Time!

Our first ever story time took place at our new pre school library. Although not officially open, we couldn’t resist showing the kids the new school and reading them a story or two. Stories are the favourite part of the day for many students!

Thank you Steph

Volunteer Steph did an amazing job teaching children, starting a new nutrition program and has become the sponsor of lovely little Rosa. We’ll miss you Steph and wish you well on your travels.

Success for Suwisni

Here’s one of our many stories of how education has changed lives. BCP sponsored Suwisni right through high school. She now has a job and is saving to go to college!

Child of the Month

Our Child of the Month is Ni Putu Asti Winarsih. She is desperate for a sponsor so that she can access school and realise her dream of becoming a teacher.

SPONSORED: Putu

Last month we appealed for a sponsorship for ‘child of the month’ Putu and we have great news! Putu gained a sponsor almost immediately. It now means that she can go to school and focus on her education, instead of where the money will come from! Thank you Marte Haraldsen for kindly sponsoring Putu.

Did You Know?

One of our signature programs is to enable kids to access education. School is technically free, but many families lack the associated materials, equipment and tax costs to send their children to school. We sponsor over 250 children in Bali so they can recieve an education and realise their dreams. YOU can become a sponsor  too!

Workshops for Teachers

We held a teachers workshop to help hone teaching skills. Teachers are a huge influence on the lives of students, so we are always striving to increase standards. We were joined by teachers from 4 kindergartens and pre schools.

Opy’s Award

We are immensely proud of our very own Opy Sulaeman, who manages our HIV & Sex Education Program. Opy was volunteering out of hours by presenting at Yayasan Generasi Bisa Indonesia’s World AIDS Day, but little did she know she was about to also win an award in the ‘Leadership’ category!

Letters to Sponsors

Here’s our lovely Eka and Gede mailing letters from some of our sponsored children, updating and thanking their sponsors for helping them go to school.

Pre School Visit to Local Hotel

We have an amazing day with the BCP pre school children when they were invited to The Mansion Baliwood Country Club for a great day out. Many of the children could not sleep the night before due to excitement!
