Linda Dewi knew that because of her mounting debt, she would not graduate. That was before, and now Linda Dewi dares to dream of a different future.

The Cost of Education

As with about 1 in 10 of youngsters in Bali, affording high school is a luxury they don’t have. Linda Dewi had debts of unpaid school fees stacked. Her final year just meant more debt and the likelihood she would drop out of school. Her family simply couldn’t afford it.

But thanks to Bali Children’s Project being the beneficiary of Ubud Chef’s Charity Lunch 2016, we were able to sponsor Linda Dewi, amongst other support for children.

The Ubud Chef’s Charity Lunch takes place each year at Cascades Restaraunt, within the Viceroy, Ubud.

Linda Dewi Dares to Dream

Thanks to sponsorship from the sponsorship, Linda Dewi did graduate, against all odds.

Graduating in June 2017, Linda is on to her next steps. Her expectations of being a woodcarver have changed into full dreams. Her hard work helped her to gain a full scholarship with the renowned spa Jamu Spa School. Our thanks to Jeannine and Jamu Spa for offering scholarships to graduating children each year.
