Graduate Success Stories: Yantu

Yantu is a shining example of how sponsorships can change children’s futures – watch the video below to hear his story and find out how he went from a future being a high school drop out – to learning all he needed to become a successful farmer.

With his father passing away and Yantu becoming the male ‘head of the family’ at a young age, Yantu had little hope. But once sponsored by supporter Nana, he buckled down in school and learned all he needed to make his future a successful one.

A graduate of our Class of 2021, Yantu took his opportunity to stay in school and used his knowledge to build an incredible business.

In Bali, nearly 20,000 students fail to graduate from high school each year, limiting their futures to basic labour.

Today, four years after graduating, he has put his mind to full use by increasing crop yeilds at his failing farm and turning fortunes around for his family.

We are beyond proud of Yantu and all that he has achieved.
