What a delight to see children’s faces light up having received an unexpected donation of bicycles from the kind staff at Van Cleef Arpels, Singapore.

Donations from Singapore

Children in Bali were on a high, or should we say ‘on their bike’ as our team were out delivering some unexpected donations this week.

Van Cleef Arpels Singapore made the kind gesture of donating on behalf of their employees. They wanted to show their staff that thanks to them, so chose to donate to Bali Children’s Project.

It was a large donation to our Quality of Life program – which aims to give children from poor families a better standard of living. Not only that, Van Cleef Arpels went one step further and also added a donation for School Entry Backpacks.

School Entry Backpacks are our supply pack that we give to elementary age students from poor families. It equips them with all they need to start school – and includes uniforms, materials and more. The backpacks will be delivered in June, ready for the 2018/19 school year.

But it was the bicycles that turned a normal afternoon into an unforgettable one. The pictures tell the real story and the delight from children and their families was just a pleasure to see.

Why Bikes?

Bicycles aren’t just a fun hobby for children in Bali. They are a mode of transport. Children from the poorest families often have no transport and find themselves walking kilometers to school every day.

Of course it’s not transport only, it’s fun! And these children, whose families would have never been able to afford bikes, are now having the times of their lives.

Bicycles really do help to show children from poor families that people care about them. It’s a gift that is so much more than words can express.

Quality of Life

Our sincerest thanks to Van Cleef Arpels for their generosity to children with less.

Improving quality of life this way is a fantastic way to help children in Bali. From mattresses, to food supplies, donations to our Quality of Life program mean we can give help where it’s needed most.
