29th June 2015
350 Kilometers (horizontal), 12,000 meters (vertical!), 4 guys and a good cause. Kind supporters Marco, Tetsuya, Asheesh and Marcel will be undertaking a an ‘Epic Bali Bike Ride’ starting on 27th June to raise funds for our work!
Arriving in Bali on 27th June, the 4 friends were straight into their challenge, biking from Sanur to Ubud. They dropped straight into the BCP office and our Pre School and we were there to cheer them on!
They were greeted by our dedicated staff and many children from the local area. Eka, BCP Manager, gave the guys a tour of our office and preschool, which included a surprise as they were greeted with flower necklaces, coconuts, and a traditional Balinese dance – a mythical legend about two birds of beauty who fall in love.
We were so happy to welcome these 4 kind men to see a small part of our work they are supporting. It was a well deserved rest after their first leg of cycling.
It’s literally uphill from here though, as today they bike up through the mountains of Bali, to Bedugul – one of the highest accessible points!
At the time of writing, they have already raised over $3,000 USD from their crowdfunding website at https://www.crowdrise.com/TEBAR/fundraiser/marcogavin.
If you can, please help support BCP and their efforts through donating.
Good luck guys, we’ll be cheering you on for the rest of the journey.
