We’re so proud to have some really great supporters that help us to send poor children in Bali to school.
This was the case when we had a recent plea from bright young Komang Widiasih. Although being top of her class, her aunt and uncle couldn’t afford the fees to keep her in school.
Luckily, that all changed when BCP supporter Jeannineheard about Komang’s situation. Jeannine already sponsors two children through Bali Children’s Project, but was happy to help again by sponsoring Komang.
Just finishing grade 6, Komang is soon starting grade 7 (in July), which involves more school costs. Komang lives with her aunt and uncle after her parents could not afford support her. Both Komang’s parents live away in Denpasar, working as casual labourers – making bricks.
Junior school is one thing, but costs really do increase when children reach secondary education. Many are left with no choice but to drop out if the cannot keep up with the bills. For Komang, this won’t happen.
Since grade 4 Komang has been slowly climbing up the school test charts and has jumped up from third in the class last year to top this year.
We are so happy that Komang won’t have to worry about school costs anymore and can go on to access education right through to graduation.
Sponsor Jeannine further supports youngsters from BCP by offering graduating children with an opportunity to train as a massage therapist at Jamu Spa School.
It is only thanks to kind sponsors like Jeannine that Komang can stay in school. If you can life changing sponsor of a child in need in Bali, please get in touch or visit our sponsorship page. It costs $40 a month, but makes a lifetime of difference.
